Our Story
The Lighthouse Community Church of the Brethren was founded in 1916 in Sebring with 12 members. We have grown from a church for winter residents into a thriving local church.
Going deeper we connect to the Church of the Brethren founded in 1708 in Germany with a group of 8 persons who through studying the Bible decided that believers should be baptized as adults and that all persons should have access to scripture.
Going back further we are tied to the early church of Acts that follows the teachings of Jesus.
